Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that involves creating a series of low-energy acoustic wave pulsations that are applied using a gel medium to the injured area. The purpose of this therapy is to trigger the body’s own natural healing response. There may be a slight feeling of discomfort during the treatment. The number of treatments varies depending on the indication and tissue response. The effectiveness of treatment is cumulative, so you will require more than one treatment. Most conditions will require 3-6 treatments done 3 to 10 days apart. Following treatment, you may experience temporary soreness, tenderness or swelling for a few days. Upon completion of your treatment you can return to most regular activities.
Shockwave Therapy has been shown to effectively treat the following conditions:
Tennis Elbow . Golfer’s Elbow . Calcific Tendinosis of the rotator cuff muscles . Patellar Tendinitis . Bursitis . Shin Splints . IT band friction syndrome . Patellar Tendinitis . Plantar Fasciitis . Heel Spurs . Achilles Tendinitis
