Dr. Sasha Hamid is an Associate Chiropractor with CURAVITA. Dr. Hamid graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2006. As a child, Dr. Hamid had terrible jaw pain. Her own personal experience in the healthcare system and struggles with her TMD shed light on a hands-on healing profession.

Upon graduation, Dr. Hamid began practicing at CURAVITA, Glebe location in 2006 and moved to practice at CURAVITA, Byward location when it opened in 2009.

Before beginning Chiropractic College, Dr. Hamid was living in Ottawa and had been a patient at CURAVITA. She knew she wanted to return and settle in Ottawa and Dr. Brough and his team made a lasting impression. The clinic and its team had created an environment where she wanted to grow as a professional and begin her career.

Dr. Hamid’s primary practice techniques include Thompson, Diversified and Activator. Inter-professional collaboration is paramount when dealing with musculoskeletal (MSK) issues. Dr. Hamid regularly incorporates soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation where necessary with CURAVITA’s talented team of physiotherapists and registered massage therapists.

Dr. Hamid is passionate about promoting the chiropractic profession, increased access to chiropractic care, and healthy living for all Canadians. She also believes in giving back to her community. Dr. Hamid is a member of the Ontario Chiropractic Association as well as the Canadian Chiropractic Association where she volunteers her time in the area of government relations. She is an advocate for MSK health and awareness in Ontario and across Canada. She is a regular face in media outreach representing the chiropractic profession and promoting MSK health and public education programs in Ontario. Dr. Hamid had the privilege of participating in the Greater Ottawa Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2019 and joined a team of talented Ottawa female business leaders as part of the Forty Under 40 Team to raise funds and help build a home for a day.

When not in practice, Dr. Hamid enjoys spending time outdoors in the NCR region with her family, and twice a week you will find her boxing where she happily sweats, skips and throws punches with her best friend of 36 years.
