At Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa

Chiropractor, Dr. Melissa Baird, has been involved in Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa since 2014. With the help of Habitat families, donors, community partners and volunteers, Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa builds affordable homes that provide a solid foundation for local families.

Dr. Baird started her involvement with Habitat as a volunteer with the Selection Committee and then moved into chairing the committee. The Selection Committee is responsible for reviewing applications from potential homeowners and meeting with the families as part of the approval process.

Dr. Baird is currently part of the Leadership Team for Women Build. Women Build empowers women from all walks of life to come together in a shared mission to give hands up to families in need of a safe and affordable place to live. In 2019, Dr. Baird was able to take part in building a home for a well deserving family. She looks forward to continuing to support the organization in the future as affordable housing continues to be an important concern with Ottawa.
